First Swim of the Season

Corbin had his first swim of the season last week in his new backyard pool. He LOVED it and asks to get in the pool ALL DAY, everyday now. Unfortunately he got his mom's fair skin so we try to keep him smothered in sunscreen or covered in shade. Here he is sporting his shades, rash guard, new suit, and new water shoes.
He's thinks he's a fish now and blows bubbles in the pool just like he does in the bathtub.
I'm sure he'll turn brown if we keep up this routine for the next 3 or 4 months.
As long as we break for snack time... he could be outside all day long just playing in the water!
Cheese!
After snacks I decided to let the sun warm him up a little and before he got back in the water he was proud to show me his muscles like daddy's. What a little stud. Sometimes I wish they'd never grow up.

Awe... Spring!

Warning: Those of you who don't currently reside in AZ, be ready. We realize it has still been snowing in places like Utah, Washington, and many places back East, but we had to share our appreciation for an early and pleasant AZ spring. Our rose bushes finally bloomed this season for the first time. We planted them over a year ago and they finally decided to manifest their inner beauty. I water them avidly to prevent shriveling and Corbin has become quite a good helper with the water.

We had about 40+ blooms on each bush and they aren't done yet!
My little "water boy" always has to help us when we go outside... he'll even pick up leaves one by one off the sidewalk and throw them into the lawn or rocks because he's helped daddy blow them off. We can't tell you how nice it is that he is SOOO helpful around the house... hope it will stay that way! :)
Our weekly bouquet of roses for our kitchen table... provided by nature. I love it!
Corbin's help doesn't stop at our house-- he "helped" Grandma and Grandpa plant sunflowers in their backyard too. It's quite obvious which seeds he planted by the random sprouts that are beginning to come up apart from the rest.
Of course not only do the plants and flowers need watering at Grandma's house too, but the pool needs more water as well and Corbin is all over that!

Bow-ling!

Jeff & I decided to include Corbin in on our Friday "date night" this week and took him bowling.... a little unsure if he'd "get" it or just run after it, or be uninterested.
He LOVED it! We only bowled one game and he had a blast. He completely understood the concept of rolling the ball to knock over the pins. He never once tried to run after the ball and rather enjoyed just watching it roll.....and then CRASH into the pins!
He eagerly cheered for himself and even caught on to the concept of cheering for mommy and daddy.
Here's Jeff giving Corbin a couple pointers on how to roll the ball without the child ramp.
This is Corbin pointing out the green ball as "Coobin's", the pink ball was mommy's and the blue one was dad's. He also caught on to the concept of taking turns and got so excited when Jeff was done because it meant it was his turn AGAIN!
The simple pleasures of childhood.... Jeff and I love re-living it all again through Corbin. Look at that smile... so cute!
And... since this was a GAME, here is the score card. D (Dolly) for Holly- check out that near turkey in frame 10, so close. S (SFP) for Jeff- almost got beat by his pregnant wife. C (C-Dog) for Corbin- not bad for a rookie! He's a natural. If you ever feel like bowling, give us a call. Corbin is STILL talking about it! :)
