Winter Rainy Day!

I absolutely love the weather here in Mesa this morning. It's been overcast, cool, and rainy and if we lived at a little higher altitude it would be snowing.... and I would be sitting on the couch next to my Christmas tree sipping Stephen's hot coco and watching it snow. But, instead I am blogging with my son on my lap and watching it rain outside my window. I realized today that I don't blog that often because when I do it is usually a really large trip or big event and it takes me a while to get it posted. So, today I decided to use the family blog as more of a family journal and write my thoughts and ambitions and updates. Well, this week we had the exterior of our house painted and it looks AWESOME. If you live nearby you'll have to come drive by and check it out because I won't have a good picture of it until the rain subsides. Also, I got a haircut and color yesterday and chopped a good 2-3 inches. No good photo yet, but keep checking back and you'll be sure to see both images soon.... after I finish enjoying the winter rainstorm. =)

Thanksgiving Utah Trip

Slam Dunk!

Well, Corbin's wish list this year for Christmas includes a basketball hoop, much like this one he plays with at his cousin's house. Basketballs are his absolute favorite and he can even say "bakitball huup"!
Every time we drive up to grandma and grandpa's house he's quick to point out their "hoop" in the driveway and then he knows exactly where we are. It's adorable.
For the past 6 months he's had to play with the silly suction cup basketball hoop on the sliding glass doors at home and it's just not the same... so when he sat on Santa's lap this year he asked for a bakitball hoop and a choo-choo.
He has been a pretty good boy this year, so hopefully Santa shows up with the hoop and choo-choo on Christmas morning! We'd have one happy little boy at our house... and two busy parents! =)

Announcement: Summer Baby '08

Well, it's true. Jeff and I are expecting to be parents AGAIN and Corbin will be a BIG BROTHER on June 9, 2008! We couldn't be more excited. I am officially 12 weeks today and feeling tired...but other than that the nausea has subsided and the cravings aren't as strong. These 2 kids will be 22 months apart. That's almost 2 years between children... now if we can just get Corbin potty-trained before June. :)

daddy's boy

Corbin was definately trying to follow in his dad's footsteps this morning...LITERALLY.
Jeff went outside to do some yardwork and Corbin hates to be left out so he stood at the front door and knocked and decided to try dad's shoes on, but they were so big and heavy that Corbin couldn't even pick up his feet so he just stood there saying, "da-da!"
After Jeff turned off all the machinery, we let Corbin out to see what Jeff was doing and I guess Corbin decided it looked easy enough so he tried it out. Unfortunately he wasn't sure which part was the front or back so he ended up just sitting on the blower riding it like a horse.
Finally Jeff showed him how it was done and turned it on for him... he was a little shocked at the noise and power behind that thing. Jeff promised Corbin that as soon as he is tall enough, Corbin would be mowing and trimming the lawn, pruning the trees, and pulling the weeds.

our little devil meets his match

Well, Corbin dressed up as a devil this year for Halloween
(his dad's choice) and he fit the part quit well...
He learned to walk a few weeks before Halloween and
also learned to say Trick or Treat, which came out as "tickle-tickle!"
Corbin hated getting ready and hated waiting for us to take so many pictures but once he was in the stroller he was ready to spear all those witches and goblins in his path!
We stopped by our friends' house to see their little angel whom Corbin plays with on occasion and ironically...
The devil and angel shared a kiss, a dance, and then...
good prevailed over evil and the angel knocked our little devil to the ground! It was quite hilarious but Corbin wasn't too happy about it, so...
on the way home... Corbin decided to chew on an un-opened kit-kat bar and after a while he found that there is a yummy treat inside! Needless, to say he got his sugar fix for the night, discovered what candy was and threw a "devilish" fit for more! It was a delightful Halloween eve and we're sure he'll be ready for more come next year.
