Little Adriana

My cousin Rusty, who is like a brother to me, lost his baby girl last week- April 9, 2008. Adriana was born 5 days before her scheduled c-section as a stillborn. She was an active little thing who moved so much she twisted up her cord too tight and cut off all nutrients and oxygen about a quarter inch from her belly button. Kristina, her mother, found out the following morning at her Dr's appointment when the nurse could not find her heart beat. Adriana Kristina Hathcock is their 3rd little girl and her 2 big sisters are saddened by their loss but proud to be big sisters to their own little angel. Wish we could have met her and seen her full head of red hair. Here is a beautiful video put together by her uncle.

My heart hurts for your family. I can't believe I made it through that video. It was so beautiful and so touching and so so sad. I started crying after about 2 seconds, and I'm still bawling. Our prayers are with you and your relatives.

Our family too, has a little angel who now lives with our Heavenly Father. Please, pass along or love and prayers to your family. I know that it was the prayers of others who got me through our loss. Families are forever!

What a heartbreak for your entire family. I am grateful for the knowledge that they will get to raise this little baby during the Millennium.

Holly, Thank You so much for your thoughts, prayers, and kind words! Kristina just told me about this so I had to check it out. I feel confident that Adriana fulfilled her part in the Plan of Salvation... As you can imagine I was stunned by the phone call and my initial reaction was pronounce a life giving blessing upon her through the womb. In that blessing it was revealed to me that life was not to be given back to her but that she received her body, felt joy through the love that we have for her, and that she did not need to be tested, all of which is our sole purpose for having life given to us for the Plan. She filled all of the requirements to be with God and I know that I'll see life in her at a future date.

Many have asked how I feel and it is difficult to describe to those who have not been through this type of trial. In a small way it equates to an epic theater where you are ecstatic about the lead character. This show is going to have everything; you know that you will laugh & cry, experience horror, sadness, suspense... you'll have thrills and spills, and be on the edge of your seat the whole time. You don't know much about the lead character, she's a bit of a mystery, but you know it's a girl, she's very active, and YOU LOVE HER! You can't wait! The line is long and so is the wait. Finally you make it to your seat in the theater; you are all set to go with candy, popcorn, drink... everything you need to sit through the show. The opening credits roll you are about to meet that lead character that you just can't wait to see. Suddenly, the lights come on the show cuts out and you are told "sorry, you can't watch it today, but if you're good you might get to watch the show and that lead character you don't know much about but that you love so much when it comes out on dvd." Needless to say, you are very disappointed.

Well, thanks again! Though, this experience is the pinnacle of disappointment it has been hugely overcome through the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and the kindness of others. Many have said that they will do anything for us not knowing that the simple genuine offer to do so is ample enough to satisfy the request and any feelings lack that we've had. Seeing your humble acknowledgment on your blog does just that and is more meaningful than you may realize.
